Tiger News Crew-Production Club

Lights Camera Action

The Production Club, known as the “Tiger News Crew”, prerecords the morning news that is shown schoolwide each morning at 7:45 am. The Tiger News crew members learn to operate digital and video cameras and use video editing software to produce the news show each morning, which includes the weather, the daily cafeteria menu, important school updates, special reports, and much more.  Members also learn teamwork, timing, and public speaking skills.  Being a member of the Production club is a privilege limited to students in 4th and 5th grades, but all grades have the opportunity to be in parts of the news. Membership requires dedication and members must follow high standards of conduct, respect, and leadership.  Club members serve as role models for their peers and must strive to behave properly at all times on and off camera.  Members also must have high education standards and maintain a ‘C’ or better grade average in all subjects to continue participating.  Since the news broadcasts is prerecorded during the school day, members also must commit to spending some of their recess to make productions.
